Disney World’s Epcot: Eating and Drinking Around the World

We started our Florida adventure with a two-day stop at the Happiest Place on Earth. I happen to have a family friend who works at Disney, he was able to provide us with passes to the parks for no cost. So if you know anyone who works at Disney, this is definitely a money-saving loophole!

In Orlando, Garrett and I stayed at the Wyndham Grand Bonnet Hill Resort. We found a good deal on Expedia as hotels in this area are definitely on the expensive side.  This resort exceeded our expectations.  Three pools, four restaurants, a lazy river, and a pirate ship. Plus a shuttle to all Disney parks, which allows you to get around with ease.

Day 1 Epcot

Our first day at Disney we spent in Epcot.  The name of the game was “drinking around the world”. Garrett and I shared food and drinks in most of the “countries” represented around the park. This is a great adult Disney activity, in fact, most of the people spending their time in Epcot that day, seemed to be on the same mission as us. Here are our recommendations of what to get in each country!

First up, Mexico. A margarita of course. But not just a margarita, a tropical-three-flavors-in-one margarita. When we finished our margaritas, we waited in line for Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros, a boat ride inside the Mexico Pavillion.

Finishing up our Tour of Mexico, we headed into Norway to hang out with Ana and Elsa. I got the Aass Pilsner they had on tap, Garrett got the frozen Viking Coffee. My beer was good, but his frozen coffee was incredible! We also ordered school bread. Which is one of the most delicious, custard-filled bread you will ever taste. Pictures below to make your mouth water.

In Norway, we patiently waited in line the wound wayyy around the country for the Frozen Ever After ride. The Frozen-themed ride features Olaf, Ana, Elsa, and all their friends and of course plays all our favorite songs.

Off to China next. At the Joy of Tea kiosk outside the attraction, we ordered the Canto Loopy cocktail which is vodka and cantaloupe juice. It was a weird combo but surprisingly refreshing. To eat we ordered the crab and cheese wontons (aka crab rangoon) with peanut sauce.

When we got to Germany there was no question in my mind; we needed a giant pretzel and a beer asap! And that is what we did!

Italy – I am ashamed to say I skipped Italy (pizza! I love you!) but at this point, we were getting full and wanted to make it all the way around.

We hit up the Kabuki Cafe kiosk outside of Japan for some spicy tuna sushi and a blackberry sake mist! Garrett and I have been trying too hard to like sushi and this one was really good! The sake mist was like a giant snow cone and you could pick the flavor, we chose blackberry!

Lastly we couldn’t resist some champagne from France! Garrett and I divided and conquered on this one. He got the champagne from and I got the crepes from Crepes des Chefs de France. I got 1 with strawberry and one with chocolate. Looking back, I wish I asked for one crepe with chocolate AND strawberries.

And this is where we ended our journey.  This was so much fun for Garrett and I to do together. Because of Covid, we have not had the opportunity to travel much together. Epcot gave us the opportunity to go all around the world in one day.

Outside of eating and drinking around the world.  There a few rides that you have to do when in Epcot.

  • If you are a fan of marine life, the Seas with Nemo and Friends ride is a great choice. It ends in an aquarium where you can watch rescued dolphins and manatees
  • If stimulated 3D experiences are your thing, take a parasailing tour with Soarin’ Around the World. I love this ride! The special effects (in true Disney fashion) are so incredible and you really feel as if you are parasailing.  Garrett and I were pointing and calling out places we have been before like were on a sightseeing cruise.
  • Test track is an Epcot Classic. Pre-covid you were able to design your own car and see how it performs.  To eliminate touchpoints, you no longer design your own car, however, the ride is just as fun.  It takes you through various tests that all well-developed cars should go through.
  • Set off on an outer space adventure with Mission space. A NASA-style ride gives you two options; a mission to Mars, or a calmer ride orbiting around Earth. A simulated ride that makes you feel as if you really are in a spaceship and even prompts you to push buttons and direct the spaceship.

Epcot has always been one of my favorite parks. I love going to all the different countries, I suppose travel was instilled in me even at 6 years old.  But I cannot recommend Epcot enough for your next adult vacation. Eat and drink your way around the world and get in a few thrilling rides too, without ever leaving Orlando!

Have you traveled through Epcot before? Tell me about your experience in the comments!
